In collaboration with Shiro Bonsai

In collaboration with Shiro Bonsai

Cost: $125

In this class, you will learn the art of crafting ceramic bonsai pots and explore the world of bonsai tree style. Afterward, you will have a one-hour session with Shiro Bonsai, which includes a nursery juniper, wire, all necessary tools for the day, and your choice of tea or coffee. We will cover pruning techniques, applying training wires, and finally style your tree. Your clear-glazed bonsai pot will be ready for pickup in 3-4 weeks, perfect for planting your bonsai tree.

The Beginners Juniper Bonsai Workshop will be scheduled once your bonsai pot is ready for pickup. We can arrange a convenient time and date for the bonsai workshop with Shiro Bonsai.

The Make Your Own Bonsai Pot Workshop is available on Saturdays from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Please note that this class involves two separate payments: one for making your bonsai pot and another $80 fee for the Beginners Juniper Workshop, which will be paid upon your arrival at Shiro Bonsai.

This combined workshop gains you access to Shiro Bonsai’s annual repotting workshop, for repotting your beautiful bonsai into your hand crafted tree

Please note: Pottery Making Is Volatile

You are choosing to endeavor in a craft that has many variables. In saying that, we do not guarantee that your pottery will make it back to you the way that you left it. We do our best to care for your work as if it were our own. Unfortunately, pieces break, pottery explodes, glazes run, cracks happen, pieces don't come out the way you expect them to be. It is something that's beyond our control too. Choosing to continue and book is your acknowledgment that you accept these variables as part of the learning pottery and understand that we will not refund, credit or replace any pottery that does not make it through the process. You are signing up for an experience, our environment, to co-create together and to enjoy learning with clay.
